General information
Who can book a bed place?
Our places at WH|1 are offered to students of 42 Heilbronn as well as international students of the educational institutions at the Bildungscampus Heilbronn.
What kinds of bed places does WH|1 offer?
There are 6 units with a total of 30 dorms of different sizes and occupant numbers. One of these units is designated as barrier-free and gender-neutral (6.5). All the units can be accessed through the stairwell or the elevator. The layout varies based on the size of the dorms and the number of occupants. All dorms are fitted with a bed (usually a bunk bed), locker and wardrobe. Some units have additional storage and seating areas. Please note: you have to bring your own bedding, including bed linens and fitted sheets!
Can I move in and out at any time?
The contract always starts on the first of the month. The contract always ends on the last day of the month after 1 or 6 month.
What documents do I need for my application?
- An up-to-date certificate of studies (for new students, confirmation of acceptance is also sufficient)
- ID document/passport
- For non-EU citizens: Residence permit
- For minors: declaration of consent from a legal guardian
Do I have to prove my student status during the term of the contract?
Yes. Before your current valid certificate of study expires, you have to proactively submit your certificate of study for 42 Heilbronn for the next semester.
What kinds of communal areas does WH|1 offer?
WH|1 has a laundry room with washing machines and driers and a large drying room. Each unit also has communal areas with a kitchen and seating spaces for meeting and interacting with other users. All communal kitchens are equipped with electrical devices, crockery and kitchen utensils. Each user is assigned their own compartment in the fridge and in the store cupboard. Bicycle racks are also available. A large sanitary area is provided with a washroom, showers, and women's, men’s and accessible WCs.
Can I view my preferred unit in advance?
We do not offer an in-person viewing. You will find 360 ° tours through the individual units on our website.
Are there car parking spaces?

My desired bed place has already been assigned. Can I be added to a waiting list?
No, we don't have a waiting list. Please check the available units regularly through our website or write us a message using the contact form. If you are already a user and want to change to a different dorm, contact us through the WH|1 portal.
I need a lessor’s certificate. How can I get it?
Please contact us via the user portal. We will send you the certificate.
Are pets allowed?
In consideration of other users, pets are not allowed..
Can I host guests in WH|1?
To make sure all users have a suitable environment for learning and study, our house rules have a stipulated quiet period from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. No guests/visitors are allowed during this quiet period.
Are parties permitted in WH|1?
To make sure all users have a suitable environment for learning and study, our house rules have a stipulated quiet period from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Of course, our communal areas can be used for get-togethers, but the quiet periods must be complied with in this case too. Consideration must be given to our surrounding neighbors of the Wollhaus. We reserve the right to restrict the opening times for the communal areas where necessary.
Fees
What is the monthly fee?
Depending on the designated occupancy for your dorm, the flat-rate fee for a bed place is between 190 euros and 250 euros.
What does the fee cover?
The fee covers your selected bed place plus the locker and wardrobe, as well as the use of the communal areas. It includes all ancillary costs such as waste disposal fees, electricity and water consumption and internet usage via WiFi.
Are there any additional costs?
The laundry room is operated by our partner WeWash. There are separate fees for the use of the washing machines and driers.
Do I have to pay the German broadcasting license fee (“GEZ”) myself or is it covered in the flat-rate rental fee?
Any German broadcasting license fee (“GEZ”) that has to be paid is not included in our fee. All users have to fulfill any applicable registration requirements themselves.
How and when do I pay the fee?
Please transfer your fee yourself by the third working day of the current month at the latest. The best way to do so is simply to set up a monthly standing order. In the reason for payment, please provide your name and the contract number. Payment must be made in euros.
Deposit
Is there a deposit?
No, a deposit is not collected.
Contract duration and termination
Is there a minimum or maximum contract duration?
Our contracts are always concluded for one till six months.
My contract is ending but I would really like to stay at WH|1 a bit longer. Is that possible?
As long as you have not violated the house rules or the study contract, you can conclude a follow-up contract. This is dependent on availability and the submission of an up-to-date certificate of studies.
When do I have to notify you by if I need a follow-up contract for my bed place?
We need your request notification as soon as possible. We do not reserve berths for existing tenants.
Can I cancel my contract?
You are concluding a fixed-term contract. This fixed term is binding. In accordance with legal regulations, each party is entitled to terminate the contract summarily in exceptional circumstances with good cause; the contract provides more detailed information in this regard.
When is the lessor permitted to terminate the contractual relationship?
The lessor is entitled to an extraordinary termination of the contract with the user in the following circumstances:
- There is a late payment amounting to one monthly fee.
- Despite prior prompting by the lessor, the user does not meet their obligation to provide up-to-date proof of their student status during the course of the contractual relationship.
Moving in and access card
When can I move in?
Your access to WH|1 and your unit is generally enabled when your tenancy begins on the first of the month. However, please note that our WH|1 team at Bildungscampus is only available for support on Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Only an on-call service is available outside of these times. We therefore recommend that you move in during the service hours mentioned above.
How do I get access to WH|1 and my dorm?
You access them using the CampusCard. If you already have a CampusCard when you apply, please specify the ID of the card during registration. You can also notify us of the ID later using the WH|1 portal or through the website contact form.
It is my move-in date and I still don’t have a CampusCard. How do I get access?
We request the CampusCard ID from the new users before moving in. If you do not yet have a CampusCard, you can get one at the reception of the 42 HN (students of the 42 HN) or at the Bildungscampus 9 reception (students of other educational institutions).
Can I get my access card through the post?
No, the access card cannot be sent by post.
What do I need to move in?
You must have the following documents when you move in:
- - An up-to-date certificate of study for 42 Heilbronn that covers your usage period
Is there a chance that I will be denied access to WH|1?
Yes. If you do not have a valid certificate of study, we cannot issue you with an access card or activate your CampusCard.
Where can I park while moving in?
Wollhaus has a public parking garage where you can park while you move in. The costs involved are not reimbursed.
Can I move in on an earlier date?
No, your contractual relationship begins on the first of the month. Moving in earlier is possible only in exceptional circumstances when changing your bed place within WH|1, following prior consultation with us.
Is the handover when I move in documented?
No. Please check your bed, wardrobe and locker for any damage. Please report any damage by sending us a message via the WH|1 portal. If you notice any damage in the communal area, please report this damage separately.
I have locked myself out/lost my access card. How can I access my unit and dorm?
Please contact the reception at Bildungscampus 9: 07131 1548154. This is staffed 24/7.
Subletting
Can I sublet my bed place?
No, subletting is not permitted
Moving out
When do I move out?
Handovers take place only between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on working days. Inspections are not performed on weekends or public holidays. The last working day before the contract ends is the latest moving-out date. We will send you some proposed dates roughly three weeks before the end of the contract. If multiple users are moving out of a dorm in the same month, a shared date is agreed whenever possible.
Who conducts the handover?
The handover is conducted by a Schwarz Campus Service employee together with the user.
I cannot be there in person on the moving-out day. Can someone do so for me?
As a general principle, you should be at the location yourself. However, if you are not able to attend the moving-out day in person, you can authorize a different person to conduct the handover. Please let us know; we will be happy to send over the relevant power of attorney.
Can I access the dorm again following the handover?
No, after the inspection, you are no longer allowed to enter the dorm.
In what condition do I have to leave the dorm?
Your wardrobe, bed, locker and compartments in the fridge and larder area must be fully cleared and cleaned by the moving-out date! All personal objects should be packed away in preparation for you to move out.

I have noticed damage in my bed place before moving out. What must I do?
If any damage or technical faults occur before you move out, please inform us immediately through the WH|1 portal.
I want to send my moving boxes by post; am I allowed to do that?
Moving boxes that are to be sent by post cannot be temporarily stored in the corridors or communal areas prior to their collection. Ensure that they are collected by the delivery person in your presence before you move out.
Am I allowed to leave items of furniture that I no longer require in the dorm?
Items of furniture (including crockery, shelves, etc.) must not be left in the WH|1 rooms. They must be disposed of in advance at a recycling center.
Equipment
What does the unit come fitted with?
Each bed place comes with the following furniture:
- - Bed (usually a bunk bed) including a slatted frame and pocket-sprung mattress (90x200 cm)
- - Wardrobe
- - Table and stool
- - Blackout curtains
- - locker
What do I need to bring with me when moving in?
Crockery, cutlery and other cooking utensils are provided. Duvets, pillows, covers and fitted sheets are not included in the furnishings! Cleaning utensils are sometimes provided.
Is there air-conditioning?
No.
Is there a television connection?
No, there is no cable connection, satellite dish connection or antenna. You can use digital services through the unlimited WiFi.
What internet connection is available in WH|1?
We provide WiFi with a speed of 1000 mbit/s for all residents. LAN is not available.
